Our Story
Established in 1974, Acquisitions began life as an architectural antiques business. Over time, our passion found a focus: rescuing and restoring beautiful antique fireplaces that had been cast aside in the ever-changing tides of fashion.
As original pieces became increasingly scarce, we took on the ambitious challenge of authentically replicating Victorian cast-iron fireplaces. With a deep respect for craftsmanship and heritage, we proudly became pioneers in bringing the period mantelpiece back into the heart of British homes.
Continuations, not Reproductions
At Acquisitions, we prefer the term continuations; the word reproductions simply doesn’t do justice to the integrity and artistry of our work. Each piece in our collection is faithfully created using traditional skills, time-honoured techniques, and authentic materials.
